Why did Lord Shiva choose this remote place?

After the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas wanted forgiveness. They searched for Lord Shiva, but he avoided them, taking the form of a bull. Bhima recognized him and tried to catch him.

But Shiva disappeared into the ground.

Only the hump remained — and that is what is worshipped today at the Kedarnath Jyotirlinga temple.

Other parts appeared in different places, forming the Panch Kedar temples.
